Deadhead is a six-year-old rum in a bottle shaped like a shrunken head, or Tsantsa, a trophy held from a vanquished enemy. As far as this bottle is concerned, unique is an understatement. The rum is made from sugar cane juice and molasses, then double-distilled and aged for six years in European oak barrels to achieve the perfect deep, spicy flavour profile.
Tasting Note: Apples, pears, and maybe a modicum of strawberry juice very grassy - if you like a good rhum agricole now and then, you'll recognise the notes. Medium length, with oak warmth and a hint of lemon peel, with an emphasis on cooking spices and runny caramel.
